Welcome to the Knowledge Hub for Global Migrant and Refugee Health

Uniting knowledge, evidence, and action to advance migrant and refugee health worldwide.

The Global Migrant and Refugee Health Knowledge Hub is a collaborative, global platform dedicated to strengthening evidence and action in the context of migration, displacement, and health. Hosted within The Global Health Network at the University of Oxford and as a UNOPS entity, the Hub brings together researchers, policy makers and practitioners from across all regions to strengthen evidence and collaboration on the topic.

The Hub focuses on three interconnected pillars

+ 1.
Strengthening Research Prioritisation and Agenda Setting

The Hub supports more coordinated, inclusive, and policy-relevant research by convening global, regional, and national consultations to identify priority questions on migration, displacement, and health. Through structured horizon scanning, stakeholder mapping, and facilitated dialogue, it brings together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and communities to co-develop research agendas that reflect real-world needs. Particular emphasis is placed on elevating locally grounded perspectives and evidence from low- and middle-income and crisis-affected settings, ensuring that underrepresented voices shape global priorities. This work is undertaken in collaboration with the Oxford University WHO Collaborating Centre on Knowledge mobilisation and Capacity building, strengthening alignment with global health strategies and enabling uptake into policy and funding processes.

+ 2.
Supporting Evidence Synthesis and Training

To address fragmentation and accelerate access to usable knowledge, the Hub produces high-quality, policy-oriented evidence syntheses, including rapid reviews, comparative analyses, and curated knowledge resources. These outputs are complemented by a strong focus on capacity strengthening, through online training courses, practical toolkits, and peer-learning communities of practice, designed to support researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers across diverse settings. By combining technical rigour with accessibility, the Hub enables stakeholders to interpret, adapt, and apply evidence in complex contexts, while also strengthening long-term capacity for evidence generation and use.

+ 3.
Facilitating Knowledge Translation into Policy and Practice

The Hub works to ensure that evidence does not stop at publication but is actively translated into policy and implementation. It develops practical guidance, policy briefs, and implementation tools tailored to different contexts, and convene dialogues that connect researchers with policymakers and practitioners. Through these mechanisms, the Hub supports the design and adaptation of health policies, systems, and services that respond to the needs of refugees, migrants, and host communities. By embedding knowledge translation throughout the research cycle, it helps close the gap between evidence and action.
